Disclaimer: I am no way a health nutritionist or personal trainer I am just your average college girl trying to make a healthy change for her body.

Alright, let’s just jump into this. Yes I am 19 years old and yes I want to live a healthy life style. I want to start feeling healthy and fit everyday and that starts with what I put into my body. I do not at all follow a diet. I kind of eat whatever and call it good. I was a competitive dance for seven years when I was in middle school and high school. Which means that I ate a ton of food in order to keep up with the long practices. I would have to say that I danced anywhere from 15 to 20 hours a week. I would fuel my body with fruits, veggies and what ever else I could get my hands on. My eating times however were not normal. I had breakfast at about 6:30 am, lunch between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm (depending on when my lunches were schedules), a snack around 3:00 pm, and dinner around 9:00 pm. I knew that this was not good for my body but it was really the only times that I could eat.
When I stopped dancing my eating started to become non existent. I would have a piece of fruit for breakfast or a smoothie around 6:00 am, I would not eat lunch, and dinner would limited. I want not really hungry ever so I would force my self to eat because I knew I needed to in order to keep up my energy.
I knew something needed to change to have a healthy and fit lifestyle. I wanted to make a change because I felt rundown all of the time and tired and honestly did not want to do anything because I was tired. I made the change in my lifestyle. I decided to listen to my body and eat when I was hungry. I also wanted to bring in more color into my diet. I have done some research on food and the benefits that food has on the body and it is pretty amazing. I will link some amazing articles that I have found that have helped me. My “diet” (if you can even call it that) now consists of tons of fruits and veggies, tons of color and variety in foods. I love my fruit smoothies in the morning. Now I eat breakfast around 7:30am, lunch around 1:00 pm, and dinner between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm. I have noticed a huge increase in my energy and my over all mood. I feel happy and energized all day long. It is truly amazing.
